The 2010 Genesis Coupe

Track Ready

Coupe or Sedan?

The 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe and the Genesis Sedan may share a similar name but they are completely different cars. The Sedan may be on the same basic platform as the Coupe and share a similar engine, but drive the two back to back and find the Sedan and Coupe are on completely different levels. The Coupe is comfortable and prompt while the Sedan is lavish and remote.

Performance and Accessories

The Coupe’s best attribute is its serious performance. It comes available with 6 trim levels (the 2.0T, 2.0T Premium, 2.0T Track, 3.8, 3.8 Grand Touring and the 3.8Track) and comes with two options for engines: a 3.8L V6 that generates 306 horsepower and 266lb.-ft. of torque or a 2.0 turbo 4 cylinder engine producing 210 horsepower and 223lb-ft. of torque. The basic 2.0T comes standard with 18-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, air conditioning, full power accessories, cruise control, a leather steering wheel and shift knob, a trip computer, Bluetooth capabilities, a CD/MP3 stereo with USB/iPod connectivity, and steering-wheel-mounted controls. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard but the 5 speed automatic is optional with paddle shifter options available.

Fuel Economy and Stylish Look

The approximate fuel economy for the 2010 Genesis Coupe estimates range from 21mpg city and 30mpg highway (for the manual 2.0T) and 17mpg city and 26mpg highway (for the manual 3.8). As far as design and styling, very little is wrong with the 2010 Genesis Coupe. The exterior is flashy and sporty and without all its Hyundai emblems, it could be a dead ringer for its competition, the Infiniti G37. It wouldn’t be far from the truth to say that the Genesis Coupe might be the best-looking Hyundai ever. Interior wise, the cabin is quite outsized with a cock-pit like ambiance. It has an attractive mix of contours and high-quality materials with a silver center stack. If you’re looking for a stylish Coupe with powerful performance and a serious contender for the road, the 2010 Genesis Coupe is one of the best on the market.
