The New 2010 Cadillac SRX

The next generation 2010 Cadillac SRX crossover looks extraordinarily similar to the previously introduced Cadillac concept, the Provoq, and will be displayed at the Detroit auto show. The new SRX is smaller than its predecessor but seats five and does not offer an optional third row. The current SRX is one of those huge gas guzzling SUV’s. Finally GM and Cadillac have sat up and taken notice that the American car buyers out there do not want gigantic cars. The 2010 SRX represents a new line of thinking from GM and Cadillac.

Engine and Fuel Economy

The 2010 Cadillac SRX will be guaranteed to come from the factory plush with accessories. A couple of engine options are available. A 3.0L VVT E85 V-6 with direct-injection and has 260hp at 6950rpm and 221 pound-feet of torque at 5600 rpm come standard for those with fuel efficiency in mind. It is also available in a smaller turbocharged 2.8L V-6 with 300hp at 5500rpm and 295lb.ft of torque at 1850 rpm. Both come equipped with a standard Hydra-Matic 6T70 six-speed automatic and will be offered in either front wheel drive or all wheel drive. GM claims that the 3.0L E85 delivers five more horsepower than its predecessor and offers ten to fifteen percent better improvement in fuel economy.Right now the 2008 Model averages 17 MPG while the 2010 model should get almost 20 MPG.
