The Shelby Ford F-150 Super Snake Concept truck is a thing of beauty! When most people hear ‘Shelby’ they usually thing of some really pimped out Ford Mustang; well this is not a Mustang and even though Mustangs may be the cars Carroll Shelby is most famous for, the Shelby brand is more dynamic than a one trick pony.
The all new Shelby Ford F-150 has been reviled at the 2009 SEMA and has become a huge example of how versatile the Shelby brand really is. Amy Boylan, the president of Shelby Autos, stated at the show that their team had built the concept F-150 to see if the people were ready for a high performance truck. She also stated that the team had the same approach and mindset with this project as they do for every Shelby project.

The New Ford F-150 has flashy styling, amazing power, responsive brakes, and race like handling. The truck has everything from balanced performance to a desirable look. Under the hood of the truck there had to be a powerhouse to be praiseworthy of the Shelby name. It has a six speed automatic 5.4 Liter V-8 engine. And to make it even more powerful Shelby added a Ford Racing Whipple supercharger and Borla exhaust. This strong engine pushes out 475 horsepower driving the rear wheels only.

With this kind of engine, there has to be an efficient brake system so the Super Snake comes with six-piston Baer brakes. The F150 also has DJM suspension in the car that lowers the truck about three inches. To match the monster performance the Shelby team knew they had to create a look and style that matched it. Shelby built out a new hood, grille, the front and rear fascias, the rear fenders, and a specialized tonneau cover. The car also rests on twenty-two inch wheels that Alcoa custom made for Shelby. To complete the styling Shelby also added a rear spoiler, carbon-fiber front splitter, and black vinyl stripes. For a 2005 to 2008 short bed Super cab, all wheel drive F150 is about $29,995. The Shelby team is still working out the bugs of the electronics in the 2009 and 2010 version but if you just want a truck with appearance that comes without the super snake badges it will cost you around $15,995.
